Programs

We’re building an “education network” across the Province of Matabeleland North.

Currently we are working with two communities in an effort to re-open their shuttered schools – the Breakfast School and the River Range School. We plan to provide the following for each;

  • Rehabilitation of their school buildings to make it safe and comfortable
  • Provide a learning environment that inspires curiosity and engagement
  • Internet access via Starlink
  • A solar power system to power the lights, devices, computers and other equipment
  • A well to provide clean drinking water
  • School supplies and textbooks
  • Exam fees (government-required standardized exams to enter secondary school)
  • Uniforms (one set per student)
  • One meal per day
  • Access to bicycles for students living more than 10 miles away
  • A one-room teacher’s residence
  • Outhouse facilities
  • Fencing to keep wild animals from garden projects and classrooms

Each school will be designed to provide year-round education for up to 200 students, spanning first through seventh grade. The Zimbabwe government and the community generously provide the land, the buildings and the teachers.

Can you help to open these schools for the children of Matabeleland North?
